Vision
To equip all students with the
1:1 Personalized Devices
All Gateway Unified School District's students and teachers in grades Kindergarten through 12th will be provided with Chromebooks. This initiative is driven by the positive results the District has achieved over the past 4 years with the use of one-to-one devices.
Purpose
To transform learning experiences within the District and help students reach higher levels of achievement, all students and teachers will be equipped with Chromebooks. Teachers will be provided the necessary training to effectively integrate the tablets into their instruction.
The one-to-one learning environment provides students instant access to technology for research, communication, collaboration, and creation that reflects the realities of life in the 21st century.
Digital tools and strategies will permeate instruction to support the teaching of all GUSD students. This environment enables students to read, write, collaborate, and develop deeper thinking and reasoning. All students will participate in inquiry-driven projects that demonstrate a deeper understanding of covered topics.
The use of technology will become ubiquitous in our classrooms.
Why we chose Chromebooks?
We opted for Chromebooks due to their versatility and myriad advantages in educational settings. Chromebooks excel in facilitating online assessments, functioning as efficient eBook readers, and supporting video mirroring. Their intuitive design and user-friendly interface contribute to a personalized learning experience, fostering engagement and seamlessly integrating personal response devices. The extensive selection of educational apps, along with support for many educational companies, enhances their versatility for diverse learning needs. Chromebooks are not only lightweight and durable but also boast a long battery life, and their fast solid-state hard drives ensure optimal performance. Beyond their technical attributes, adopting Chromebooks aligns with eco-friendly practices by significantly reducing the need for printing.
