Food Services

Did you know that what your child eats today will have a striking impact on their health throughout adolescence and adulthood? Consuming nutritious foods helps children and teens grow, develop, do well academically and feel good about themselves. The Gateway Food Services Department is proud to be a part of your child's healthy nutrition development.

All students eat at no cost in the District under our "CEP" approval with the State and Federal Government.  Gateway Unified School District is proud to offer at each school site, fresh fruit for breakfast & lunch along with an extensive salad bar during every lunch service.

Gateway's Food Service Program proudly provides many locally grown items through Happy Valley Fresh Fruit Company such as mandarins, apples, oranges, strawberries, kiwi, watermelon, squash, snap peas, and other fruits and vegetables when seasonally available.

We serve Producer's 1% milk, non-fat chocolate milk no high fructose corn syrup and non-fat seasonal varieties such as vanilla and orange crème and no fructose corn syrup. All milk products have been reformulated with lower sodium and less sugar. We also serve whole grain and whole wheat bread items from Franz Bakery as well as other whole wheat and whole grain items on the menu. Fresh fruit and an extensive salad bar is available daily at lunch. Fresh fruit and/or juice is always available at every breakfast.
