Career Technical Education (CTE)
Career Technical Education (CTE) at GUSD involves a sequence of courses aimed at equipping students with technical and occupational skills, paving the way for in-demand careers and post-secondary education. GUSD takes a proactive approach to career exploration, introducing younger students to various professions. Central Valley High School, in collaboration with the Regional Occupations Program (ROP), continually expands its CTE program, encompassing areas such as manufacturing, robotics, agriculture science, agriculture mechanics, culinary arts, and more.
CTE is a sequence of courses in which students learn technical and occupational skills to provide students with a pathway to in-demand careers and post-secondary education and certifications that are marketable in the workforce.
GUSD has students start career exploration early, with younger students learning about various professions. Central Valley High School continues to expand its career technical education program, offering manufacturing, robotics, agriculture science, agriculture mechanics, culinary arts, on-site, and numerous others through a partnership with the Regional Occupations Program (ROP).
